Documents required for the Solemnization of Marriage in arya samaj mandir :-

1. Documentary evidence of date of birth of parties (Matriculation Certificate / Passport / Birth Certificate/ Driving License). Minimum age of both parties is 21 years for male and 18 years for female, at the time of Solemnization of Marriage in the Arya Samaj Mandir.

2. Separate affidavits from bride and groom stating date of birth, marital status at the time of marriage and nationality. (As per the Performa of Affidavit) (Affidavits will be prepared by us)
3. Four each passport size photographs of both the parties.
4. Total two witnesses from anyside along with their Identity Proofs.
5. Affirmation in the affidavit that the parties are not related to each other within the prohibited degree of relationship.
6. Copy of divorce decree/order in case of a divorcee and death certificate of spouse in case of widow/widower.
7. Two garlands, two kg. sweets and half kg. desi ghee.

Swami Dayanand founder of Arya Samaj, stood strongly against the barriers of religion. He believed that India or Baharatvarsh is a land that belongs to every person who resides in it and should not be bifurcated on the basis of religion. He proved to the society that our holy Vedas do not preach of Brahmin, Vaishya, Shatriya or Shudra as different from birth but these sects are defined by the profession one chooses; none being inferior or superior to other.

Arya Samaj followers worked against the Brahmins to prove that Vedas does not mention anything about idol worship rather it states that God is omnipotent and could not be confined in a lock. Swami Dayanand and his followers were the ones to launch the great movement against the concept of Untouchability which later was followed by Gandhi and Congress during post independence. Arya Samaj and his followers propagated against the evils of child marriage and polygamy. They moved from village to village preaching and educating people to remove these evils from the society. Arya Samaj also eradicated the barbaric act of Sati Pratha from the society and brought widow remarriage into existence. The greatest mission of Arya Samaj is to build a strong nation of self-rule, equality and freedom with fearless, united, true and dedicated National Religion. They fought religiously against the orthodox Hindu organizations and Brahmins that had propagated the false and blind beliefs in the society from ages. Arya Samaj is working to unite Indians as Hindus with no caste no religion and no discrimination.

Founded on the 10th of April, 1875 and registered in Mumbai ( then Bombay), the Arya Samaj strictly follows the teaching of the Vedas, because Swami ji did not accept or follow any non-Vedic practices. Hence the Arya Samaj works against the malpractices of the society like caste based discrimination and sati. As it was established in the pre independence era, it was also a movement to spread the thought of free India. It also condemns certain popular Hindu practices like idol worship and ancestor worship, not prescribed by the Vedas.
